CARE TIPS
The high-quality surfaces of our kitchens are basically very easy to care for. In principle, only use mild, water-soluble household cleaners that are expressly intended for kitchen furniture in your product information. Use a soft, lint-free cloth or leather cloth. Never use harsh chemical substances or abrasive cleaning agents and solvents. Scouring powder, steel wool or scouring pads also damage the surface so badly that it is no longer possible to refurbish it. Please do not use steam cleaning devices! Disinfectants are not suitable for use on kitchen furniture and surfaces!
Remove dirt as soon as possible. Fresh stains can be removed much more easily and mostly completely. After cleaning, dry all parts thoroughly with a soft cloth.
All materials used in the kitchen should be exposed to optimal room temperature and humidity. Ensure adequate ventilation when cooking and always turn on the extractor fan. In the long run, rising heat and steam lead to swelling damage to the wooden components.
MATTE PLASTIC SURFACES
Plastic-coated fronts can be easily cleaned with standard household cleaning agents (no scouring agents). Dilute the cleaning agents with water and apply with a clean cloth. After cleaning, rub dry thoroughly with a soft cloth. Rubbing too hard on matt surfaces causes shiny spots.
Danger!
All nitro or synthetic resin thinners are not suitable for the care of surfaces. The cleaner should also not be coloured, since the dyes used can leave residues.
SATIN FINISHES
Always use only mild, water-soluble household cleaners that are expressly intended for kitchen furniture in your product information. Remove dirt as quickly as possible and never let it dry out. In particular, substances with a high proportion of dyes (coffee, tea, sauces, vegetables, red wine) can no longer be completely removed after they have dried. For stubborn and possibly dried-in fat deposits, use lukewarm water with a 30% soap solution. The surface is polished with aggressive cleaning agents or scouring agents and a visible shiny spot is created.
Danger!
All nitro or synthetic resin thinners are not suitable for the care of surfaces. The cleaner should also not be coloured, since the dyes used can leave residues.
GLOSSY/HIGH GLOSS FINISHES
Glossy/high-gloss surfaces are characterized by very good cleaning options. To ensure that the surfaces are not damaged during the manufacturing process in our company and during delivery, they are covered with a PE protective film. This may only be removed in the last assembly step (before assembly of the handles). After removing the protective film, the surface is still very sensitive and only fully hardens after a few days (up to a week). Until curing, we recommend taking care of the still sensitive surfaces and avoiding mechanical stress. This also includes intensive cleaning attempts. Only clean the surfaces with a soft, damp, clean cloth. The smallest dirt particles in the cloths cause scratches.
Danger!
Do not use liquid detergents, alcohol or solvents for cleaning. Do not use abrasive sponges or similar.
SOLID WOOD & REAL WOOD VENEER
Since wood is a living material, it must not be exposed to extremely humid or dry air. The processed wood is adapted to the usual humidity of 45-70%. It is therefore important to switch on the extractor hood when cooking and to ensure sufficient supply air/air exchange/ventilation . The surface of the wooden front is sealed with a special finish and is therefore easy to care for.
In general, do not use any cleaning agents for cleaning. A damp leather cloth with which you rub the front in the direction of the structure is sufficient.
After cleaning, dry all parts thoroughly with a soft cloth in the direction of the structure. Wood surfaces can change due to exposure to light. In order to avoid color differences, you should expose the fronts to an even influence of light.
CERAMIC FRONTS
Ceramic surfaces are made of 100% natural material. The surfaces can therefore change slightly with each firing or with each batch.
The surface is very easy to care for and can be cleaned with standard household cleaning agents and a clean cloth. Grease, oil and other commercially available liquids should be removed immediately to avoid leaving permanent stains. Then wipe with clear water and a clean cloth.
Harsh liquid cleaners, abrasive cleaning agent oil, sponges and steam cleaners should not be used.
SLATE FRONTS
Due to the natural and uneven stone surface, the fronts should be wiped with a damp cloth while applying gentle pressure. This prevents the fibers of the cleaning cloth from getting caught on the slate surface and possibly the smallest scales of stone being pulled off. Microfiber towels are not recommended. Use water-soluble cleaners for cleaning, harsh household cleaners or abrasive substances are unsuitable. After cleaning, dry all parts thoroughly with a soft cloth.
Danger!
The natural product slate should never remain moist or even wet for a long time. Due to the porous stone surface, grease and oil splashes should be removed promptly with warm water and washing-up liquid.
For all cleaning agents, please note the manufacturer’s information on the concentration of the cleaning agent.
GLASS SURFACES
As a rule, it is sufficient to clean the glass surface with lukewarm water and a little liquid neutral soap. For stubborn dirt and substances containing fat and oil, use a commercially available glass cleaner. It is best to use a soft, lint-free cloth, leather or soft sponge. Microfiber cloths are also suitable for cleaning. We do not recommend a cotton cloth. After cleaning, dry all parts thoroughly with a soft cloth.
No cleaning agents containing silicone or acid should be used on satined glass surfaces. Likewise, no strongly colored cleaners should be used.
WORKTOPS WITH PLASTIC SURFACE
The surface should never be cleaned with abrasive agents. Cutting directly on the worktop and placing hot pots and pans down also causes irreparable damage. Therefore, generally use chopping boards and trivets. Use a soft cloth, leather, soft sponge or microfiber cloth for care. After cleaning, rub dry thoroughly. Never use scouring pads, scouring powder, steel wool or scourers, as these damage the surface so badly that it is no longer possible to work it up.
Avoid moisture along the joints, edges and on hob and sink cutouts. Do not open the dishwasher until about 20 minutes after the end of the program so that the steam has the opportunity to condense in the dishwasher.
Moving objects with rough undersides (saucers, plates, etc.) can cause visible damage to countertop surfaces.
HANDLES, GRIP STRIPS, KNOBS
To make sure your kitchen’s handles give you lasting pleasure, please proceed as follows: do not use any acid-based or abrasive cleaning products to look after and cleaning them. Acid-based cleaning products, such vinegar or citric-acid based cleaning products, limescale remover. Scouring cleaners, for instance, include abrasive creams, stainless-steel polishes, microfibre cloths. Cleaning products of this type cause lasting damage to the surface and leave non-removable stains and/or damage to the lacquer surface, and may even result in surface flaking. Alcohol-based cleaner products may also cause damage to certain surfaces.
Only clean handles with a soft damp cloth and, if greasy, with warm solution of water and soap. Drying them with a soft damp cloth will prevent water marks. Also avoid mechanical damage from hard objects, such as rings worn on fingers, saucepans etc.
SIDE-HUNG DOOR HINGES, DRAWERS AND PULL-OUTS
Side-hung door hinges, drawers and pull-outs are maintenance-free and do not require any special care.
RUNNING SURFACES ON LARDER-UNIT PULL-OUTS
The runners are maintenance-free and do not usually require any special care. They must never be oiled.
If the unit is hard to open or can no longer be closed completely, this may be due to soiled running surfaces, runners and rollers. Lubricants, such as oil, grease or silicone spray, must never be used in such a case. It is sufficient to carefully wipe all running surfaces, runners and rollers with a clean, dry cloth in order to remove the impurities.
SINKS, TAPS AND HOBS
Sinks are exposed to all sorts of impacts in everyday use. Everyday care can prevent the surfaces from looking unsightly.
For cleaning and care purposes, use a soft cloth, leather or soft sponge as well as standard neutral household cleaners. Stubborn stains and water marks are best removed with standard commercial care agents. Rust film on stainless steel is best removed with a commercially standard metal polishing cleaner. After cleaning, all parts must be thoroughly dried with a soft cloth.
Please note!
Never use cleaners containing acid (e.g. citric acid cleaner / vinegar cleaner), cleaners containing solvents (e.g. thinners), scouring pads, scouring powder, steel wool or pan scourers, as they damage the surface to such an extent that it cannot subsequently be restored. The manufacturers’ care instructions must also be followed in addition to the above advice.
CUTLERY INSERTS
To look after and clean cutlery trays, use a soft cloth, chamois leather or soft sponge as well as standard neutral household cleaners. The cutlery inserts can also be removed from the drawers to make cleaning easier. After cleaning, all parts must be thoroughly dried with a soft cloth.
Please note!
The individual manufacturers’ care instructions must also be noted in conjunction with the above points, as some inserts are also dishwasher-proof.
HOBS
Remove all soiling as quickly as possible, or it will burn into the surface the next time the hob is switched on. Use a scraper for ceramic hobs if it is still hot. For cleaning and care purposes use a soft cloth, leather, soft sponge or scraper for ceramic hobs as well as commonly used neutral household detergents or the special-purpose cleaning agents recommended by the manufacturer. Stubborn stains caused by water, limescale or abrasions caused by pots or pans are best removed with the special-purpose cleaning agents recommended by the manufacturer. Never use scouring pads, scouring powder, steel wool or pan scourers as they damage the surface to such an extent that it cannot subsequently be restored.
Please note!
The individual appliance manufacturers’ care instructions must also be noted in conjunction with the above points. These are enclosed with the appliances.
